The perfect size to keep with you at all times

A big part of the design criteria for the Wafer 2.0 was an even more compact device able to be carried with you at all times. We believe we have achieved that with a:

Orients the right way every time

We developed a unique splicing technique such that the connection point sits vertically when under load. This allows for a much more simple and elegant clipping location without the need for girth hitches or twisted connectors. The girth hitch connection is still possible if you want to bring your connected item as close to the body of the Wafer 2.0 as possible.

In addition to proper orientation, the connection point is quite large. Large enough for several pieces of gear to be connected without interfering with the functionality of the device.

An updated design for the Wafer 2.0 brings more than just aesthetics!

Although the connection point for the Wafer 2.0 is identical to that on the original Wafer, we have changed the way we join the ends of the Amsteel Anchor sling. We now use a Grog Splice, which is exposed at the rear of the device. This matches our popular Wafer XL product while also increasing the gripping power of the device.

This new splice technique adds another point of contact for the Amsteel Anchor sling. This additional contact point provides more gripping pressure when the Wafer 2.0 is loaded. In our testing, we are seeing an average of 10% more gripping power compared to the original Wafer. This translates to 10% higher (on average) slipping values. More holding power in a smaller package.

However, even though the Wafer 2.0 is very reliable at gripping up to quite high tensions, we do not recommend using it as a primary grip for any high tension lines. This includes Freestyle lines, Long highlines, and longlines in the park. It's great for a secondary grip for these types of lines, a primary grip on standard highlines, and as a device on the harness for use while on the line.

Signature LineGrip rubber for a strong and reliable grip

We're stoked to be partnering with the guys over at LineGrip to bring the signature LineGrip Rubber to the Wafer and now the Wafer 2.0. This specially formulated rubber compound has been thoroughly tested in many different environments and on several different webbing types. This ensures a reliable grip in even the harshest of conditions.

Not only does the Wafer 2.0 have a reliable grip, the rubber plates can be swapped out when they wear down from extensive usage. As long as you follow our rubber replacement guides, your Wafer can be used for many years of reliable gripping.
