Description
Say hello to the successor to our very popular Secondaire webbing. We have heard the feedback from our customers and enhanced the feature-set of this webbing to increase its functionality as a supreme backup webbing.
Secondaire MK2 is now stronger at an MBS of 27 kN. It maintains the same weight of 44 g/m. It is a lot more stiff to prevent excessive candy canes on the backup, while maintaining its dense pack-ability. It has a much smoother weave that is nicer in the hand and on the foot when you happen to step on it.
All these new features at the same low price as our original Secondaire webbing.
Simple Design for Backup Lines

No need to get fancy for a webbing used as a backup
The aim with Secondaire MK2 was to get as simple of a polyester webbing that we could in order to make backup lines more accessable. We achieved that by sticking with a plain weave structure, using natural polyester yarn and a simple marker yarn to help detect twists. No fancy weave technology or specialty yarn was used in Secondaire MK2 in order to keep costs as low as possible.
Due to the simple structure of Secondaire MK2, it packs very small and handles very well in the hand. We estimate about a 9.5L volume per 100 meters of Secondaire MK2, which is quite small for polyester webbings. Keep the pack small and light for those alpine missions without breaking the bank with Secondaire MK2.
Simple Colors Scheme

With only white and black as the colors, Secondaire MK2 keeps it simple!
As mentioned above, we kept Secondaire MK2 as simple as we could. However, in order to maintain the ability to detect twists in Secondaire MK2 with a quick glance, we added a marker line off-center. This is very helpful when taping your line, sewing the webbing on our end, and just general aesthtics of the webbing.
