Description

The Minimalist Lite Pulley System from Balance Community is a one-of-a-kind tensioning system. With nothing but lightweight components, this pulley system is by far the lightest way to tension your line out there. Don't let the size and weight of this system fool you, it's possible to easily tension lines up to 250 feet by yourself!

The main pulleys are the Rock Exotica Mini Machined Double Pulleys, which are rated at a whopping 36 kN, which is stronger than most webbings out there! These pulleys pack quite the punch for their size! With only a 1.1" sheave size, you can still get nearly 90% efficiency when using smaller ropes, such as the 9mm PMI Classic Professional Rope that is included with this kit!

Speaking of the rope, you get 120 ft. of the high quality 9mm PMI Classic Professional Static Rope, which has a fantastic hand, is very maluable, and has good stretch characteristics. With that much rope you can get roughly 25 ft. of pulleys (or 30 feet if you thread the brake as you go, which you are shown how to do in the instructions). That's enough to tension a 250 ft. piece of Type-18 to 2,000 lbf! With the right multiplier kit you can even get a 300 ft. length of Mantra MKII tight with this incredible system.

Holding your tension on this system is the Petzl GRIGRI 2. The lightest brake on the market, now capable of grabbing on to smaller ropes. Using the inline brake technique (as described in this Slack Science Article: Connection Point Characteristics), the pulley system is ultra streamlined, providing you with a very compact tightening system.

The included connectors are: 1x Van Beest 1/2" Anchor Shackle for connecting the pulleys to the anchor, 1x 5/16" Stainless D-Shackle for attaching the rope to the becket of the pulley, and 1x 5/16" Stainless Twist Shackle for attaching the brake to the other becket.

Also included with this fantastic pulley system is an in-depth set of instructions, written by Mr. Jerry Miszewski himself! This booklet (sent to you in PDF form) is chock-full of helpful tips with rigging that will teach you to maximize your usage of the pulley system.

NOTE: This pulley system does NOT come with a multiplier kit. Please choose a multiplier kit from the dropdown box from above. You will not be able to full utilize this pulley system without a multiplier kit (i.e. you will not be able to tension any slacklines longer than 40 ft. or so).
