Description

The Alpine WebLock 3.0 (AWL3.0) is the next generation webbing anchor. With a super light construction that is stronger than nearly any slackline webbing on the market, the AWL3.0 is the perfect webbing anchor for all dedicated slackliners. Never before has such a small device been so useful in slacklining.

We have taken the design from the original Alpine WebLock 2.0 and added a few new key features. Our main focus was versatility and ease-of-use with the new design. We wanted a webbing anchor which would work with all 1" webbings and would be able to connect to any anchor or tensioning system out there. What we ended up with was exactly this.

We have increased the size of the anchor hole to accommodate more than just the 7/16" Bow Shackle. The anchor hole will now accommodate the 7/16" Bow Shackle, the Van Beest ⅝" Bolt-Type Shackle, and any oval or modified-D shaped carabiner. This means you can attach the AWL3.0 to a variety of things without any issues.

We have also updated the design of the center diverter on the AWL3.0. The whole device is machined out of two solid blocks of aluminum, so the center diverter is physically unable to rotate. This allows the webbing to have higher friction within the device which will decrease the chance of slipping. In our tests, all the webbings we broke in the device held their full strength without any signs of slippage.

Not only is this new design lighter and more usable, the strength has increased! The device comes in with a MBS of 60 kN! This gives you a solid 5:1 safety ratio with the working load limit of 12 kN, which is plenty for most types of lines.

Not only has the whole device gotten stronger, but the front pin has been totally redesigned. We added an extremely easy to use, incredibly strong, Quick Release Pin to the front of the AWL3.0 which allows you to install your webbing in no time at all. With a double shear strength of 36,900 lbf and a pullout force of 2,320 lbf, this pin is top notch. The increased diameter of the pin also helps maintain a higher percentage of the webbing's breaking strength compared to the pin-diameter on other webbing anchors on the market.

Another key feature that we have changed with the new design is the addition of rounded edges. The entire device has extremely rounded edges ensuring no harm is done to your webbing when loaded in the device. This also allows for easy pre-tensioning.

With this new design, we have also increased the height of the sideplates in order to accommodate double webbings and double-wrap anchoring methods.

The AWL3.0 is the smallest, strongest, easiest to load webbing anchor on the market and is an integral part to any dedicated slackliners gear stash.

Bomber weblocks! A very solid redesign from the 2.2's. I rig long lines (300ft +) almost every day and I'm interested to see how much of a beating
they take over time. So far it seems as though they are indestructible.
