Description
The Alpine WebLock 2.2 (AWL2.2) is the next generation webbing anchor. With a super light construction that is stronger than nearly any slackline webbing on the market, the AWL2.2 is the perfect webbing anchor for all dedicated slackliners. Never before has such a small device been so useful in slacklining.
We have taken the design from the original Alpine WebLock 2.0 and added a few new key features. Our main focus was versatility and ease-of-use with the new design. We wanted a webbing anchor which would work with all 1" webbings and would be able to connect to any anchor or tensioning system out there. What we ended up with was exactly this. Included with the AWL 2.2 is a 7/16" Forged 316-Stainless Steel Bow Shackle which has a breaking strength of 15,500 lbf and fits on nearly everything. You can easily fit tripled up spansets on this shackle while also being able to fit the eye of the shackle through the anchor hole of all the pulleys in our shop!

Having the shackle built-in to the AWL 2.2 eliminates the need for any briddle slings to be involved in the device. This increases the versatility of the device by allowing it to be used in areas where slings could easily get damaged (such as cliff edges or near brances on trees). This also eliminates any weak links within the device.
Our second priority with the new design was strength. We changed the sideplate material to alloy 4130 Steel to achieve higher breaking strengths as well as keeping a smaller profile. This is the same steel that grade-8 bolts are made from. This new steel is the same weight as the previous sideplates, but nearly twice as strong.
Not only has the whole device gotten stronger, but the front pin has been totally redesigned. We added an extremely easy to use, incredibly strong, Quick Release Pin to the front of the AWL 2.2 which allows you to install your webbing in no time at all. With a double shear strength of 32,800 lbf and a pullout force of 1,160 lbf, this pin is top notch. The increased diameter of the pin also helps maintain a higher percentage of the webbing's breaking strenth compared to the pin-diameter on other webbing anchors on the market.
Another key feature that we have changed with the new design is the diameter of the center diverter. We have increased the size from 1" to 1-1/8" in diameter in the AWL 2.2. This size is the perfect balance to keep the device small while maintaining the webbing's strength. Polyester webbings retain a minimum of 93% of their rated strengths and Nylon webbings retain a minimum of 98% of their rated strengths in the AWL 2.2.
With this new design, we have also increased the height of the sideplates in order to accomodate double webbings and double-wrap anchoring methods.
The AWL 2.2 is the smallest, strongest, easiest to load webbing anchor on the market and is an integral part to any dedicated slackliners gear stash.
Now there is an option to include the RAGElock Converter Kit with your AWL 2.2. This allows you to change the device from accepting 1" lines to 1.25" lines. This is great for our new line of Trickline Webbing's that have recently been developed. Just choose whether or not you would like to include the RAGElock Converter Kit with your AWL 2.2 on the dropdown above.
